RUC · Residential Uptown Core
RUC is the Town of Oakville's Residential Uptown Core zone under Zoning By-law 2014-014. It applies to 52 zone polygons covering about 14 hectares, mostly in Uptown Core, River Oaks. The rules for the zone are in the by-law's Residential zones (Part 6).

Special provisions and growth areas
A special provision (sp) changes the zone’s rules for that site; a holding symbol (H) keeps development from proceeding until the Town lifts it. Both are set out in the by-law, which is the only place their terms are written.

What the zone permits
The permitted uses, setbacks, lot coverage and heights for RUC are set out in Residential zones (Part 6) of Zoning By-law 2014-014. OakvilleIQ does not paraphrase them: a site-specific special provision, a holding symbol or a later amendment can change what applies to one lot, and only the Town’s zoning certificate is binding.
