How this database works
The Town of Oakville publishes its planning-application records as open data: one row per application folder, with the proposed and approved homes by type, floor areas, milestone dates and the site outline. OakvilleIQ groups the folders that describe one proposal from different statutory angles, an official plan amendment, a zoning amendment and a subdivision for the same address, into a single project, and assigns each project to the Official Plan community and ward its site falls in.
Stage is a plain reading of the Town’s workflow status. “Under review” covers Open, In Circulation and Public Meeting; “Approved” covers Council Approval, Tribunal approval, draft plan approval and clearing conditions; “Complete” covers final approval and registration. Closed and denied applications are in the dataset but not listed here.
Unit counts are what the Town recorded, and a later submission can change them; where a project has a Town page it is linked and is authoritative. Applications that are also on the development tracker carry dates and sources there. The Town’s planning-applications layer and site-plan layers are the sources; the dataset is rebuilt from them and re-checked in place.
