What this is
Oakville elects two councillors in each of seven wards, a Town Councillor and a Town and Regional Councillor, plus the Mayor. The Town files planning applications by ward, so a ward is where a resident’s file lives even though it is not a neighbourhood. Ward 4 has the most addresses (14,222). How this database works
The Town of Oakville publishes its ward boundaries and every civic address as open data. OakvilleIQ counts the addresses on each street inside each ward, places the Province’s school list, the Town’s heritage register and its planning applications inside the boundaries, and measures which Official Plan communities each ward takes in. Streets are published as names with address counts only; no individual address is listed.
Ward boundaries change between elections. This copy is rebuilt from the Town’s layer and the date checked is shown; the Town’s own ward pages are linked from every ward page and are authoritative for who represents an address.
