The closure
The Town of Oakville says Lakeshore Road West between East Street and Solingate Drive will be closed from Monday, November 16 until Wednesday, November 18, 2026 for the dismantling of a tower crane. Its November 3 notice says local access will not be maintained within the closure limits, so residents and businesses on the closed stretch should not expect to drive to their doors.

Buses
Oakville Transit says Route 14 and 14A, Lakeshore West, will be on detour for the same three days, and its buses will not serve the stops along Lakeshore Road West while the road is closed. Its November 5 service update includes a detour map. Riders who usually board on that stretch should check the map for the nearest stop that is still served.
What the notices do not say
Neither the Town's notice nor Oakville Transit's names the construction site the crane belongs to, and neither gives daily start and end times, so plan for the road to be closed through all three days. The Town's notice gives Wednesday, November 18 as the last day of the closure.
