RL4 · Residential Low (RL4)
RL4 is the Town of Oakville's Residential Low (RL4) zone under Zoning By-law 2014-014. It applies to 17 zone polygons covering about 18 hectares, mostly in Glen Abbey, West Oak Trails. 7 of them carry a special provision and none carry a holding symbol. The rules for the zone are in the by-law's Residential zones (Part 6).

Special provisions, holding symbols and growth areas
A special provision (sp) changes the zone’s rules for that site; a holding symbol (H) keeps development from proceeding until the Town lifts it. Both are set out in the by-law, which is the only place their terms are written.

What the zone permits
The permitted uses, setbacks, lot coverage and heights for RL4 are set out in Residential zones (Part 6) of Zoning By-law 2014-014. OakvilleIQ does not paraphrase them: a site-specific special provision, a holding symbol or a later amendment can change what applies to one lot, and only the Town’s zoning certificate is binding.
