A special provision (sp) changes the zone’s rules for that site; a holding symbol (H) keeps development from proceeding until the Town lifts it. Both are set out in the by-law, which is the only place their terms are written.

What the zone permits
The permitted uses, setbacks, lot coverage and heights for FD are set out in Future Development zone regulations of Zoning By-law 2009-189. OakvilleIQ does not paraphrase them: a site-specific special provision, a holding symbol or a later amendment can change what applies to one lot, and only the Town’s zoning certificate is binding. Zoning By-law 2009-189 governs North Oakville only; the same code south of Dundas Street, where one exists, is a different zone under By-law 2014-014.
