The details

What the Town posted

The Town of Oakville has added two pages to its 2026 Municipal Election page. "2026 Municipal Election Results by Location" gives every candidate's votes at every voting location and tabulator in all 18 contested races, and "2026 Municipal Election Ballots Cast per Location" gives the ballots cast at each site on each voting day. Neither page gives a posting date. By OakvilleIQ's check, every candidate's total in the location tables matches the Town Clerk's October 27 declaration of official results, and in every table the location rows add up to the stated total.

Mayor: where each candidate led

The mayoral table has 57 rows: 49 for the 40 Election Day locations, some of which had two tabulators, and 8 for the seven advance polls, all held at buildings that were also Election Day locations. Jeff Knoll had the most votes in 41 rows, Sean O'Meara in 13 and Rob Burton in 2. Burton led at Dr. David R. Williams Public School, 287 to Knoll's 283, and at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex advance poll, 425 to 405. At the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex's second Election Day tabulator, Burton and Knoll had 122 votes each. Julia Hanna and Arvind Choudhary did not finish first at any location.

O'Meara's 13 first-place rows were at Walton Memorial United Church (both tabulators), Eastview Public School, Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, Sandman Hotel Oakville, the Central Branch of Oakville Public Library, Oakville Trafalgar High School (both tabulators) and Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre (both tabulators), and at three advance polls: Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre for Seniors, 438 to Knoll's 208; Queen Elizabeth Park, 408 to 214; and Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre, 414 to 364.

By ward, in our reading of the codes

The Town numbers each location with a code but does not explain the numbering. In OakvilleIQ's reading, the first digit is the ward: rows coded 1- appear only in Ward 1's council tables, rows coded 7- only in Ward 7's, and so on. Rows coded 9- are the advance polls, whose names match the advance entries in the ballots table, and 0-1 is Oakville Town Hall on Election Day. Town Hall and the advance polls appear in every ward's council table, so they took voters from any ward. The ward figures below therefore cover only each ward's own Election Day locations, not every voter in the ward.

Mayoral votes by group of locations (OakvilleIQ's grouping of the Town's location codes; shares of mayoral votes in those rows)
Ward 1 Election Day (6 tabulators)
O'Meara 2,939 (43.7%), Knoll 1,827 (27.2%). O'Meara led five; Knoll led Palermo Public School, 409 to 290.
Ward 2 Election Day (7)
Knoll 2,692 (41.2%), O'Meara 1,475 (22.6%)
Ward 3 Election Day (9)
Knoll 1,941 (34.5%), O'Meara 1,643 (29.2%). O'Meara led five of the nine tabulators.
Ward 4 Election Day (7)
Knoll 3,366 (36.6%), Burton 2,250 (24.4%)
Ward 5 Election Day (7)
Knoll 3,547 (53.0%), Hanna 1,140 (17.0%)
Ward 6 Election Day (5)
Knoll 2,085 (38.7%), Burton 1,200 (22.3%)
Ward 7 Election Day (6)
Knoll 1,033 (27.7%), Burton 948 (25.4%), Hanna 863 (23.2%)
Oakville Town Hall, Election Day (2)
Knoll 530 (31.3%), Burton 428 (25.3%)
Advance polls (8 rows, 7 sites)
Knoll 4,845 (33.1%), O'Meara 3,436 (23.5%), Burton 3,305 (22.6%), Hanna 2,577 (17.6%), Choudhary 483 (3.3%)

Taken together, the Election Day rows, including Town Hall, hold 45,570 mayoral votes: Knoll 37.4 per cent, O'Meara 22.2, Burton 19.6, Hanna 17.7 and Choudhary 3.1. The advance rows hold 14,646, and the two add up to the 60,216 votes cast in the mayor's race.

Ballots cast by location

The ballots table lists 40 Election Day locations that took 45,850 ballots on October 26. The busiest were Glen Abbey Community Centre with 2,662, Trafalgar Park Community Centre with 2,558 and River Oaks Community Centre with 2,253; the quietest was St. Vincent Catholic Elementary School, with 281. At the advance polls, Oakville Town Hall is listed on all ten advance days, for 6,292 ballots, including 1,594 on the last day, Sunday, October 18. The six other advance sites are each listed on October 10, 14 and 17; Glen Abbey Community Centre took the most of them, 2,443.

The table's 28 advance rows add up to 14,788 ballots. That is one more than the 14,787 the Town reported in its October 19 release on advance voting. The Election Day rows add up to 45,850, and the table's stated total is 60,638, the Town's official ballot count. OakvilleIQ has not been able to resolve the one-ballot difference and reports both figures.

The results page also breaks down the 17 other contested races by location: Town Councillor in all seven wards, Town and Regional Councillor in Wards 2, 4, 5 and 7, and six school board trustee seats.
