History

Built by Michael Quinn, a shoemaker from Ireland. Quinn's sons became famous sailors on the Great Lakes until their death when the two sons were lost on the steam hooker, Pinta, that went down in plain view of Oakville.

Heritage attributes

Vernacular style 1 ½ storey simple frame dwelling with narrow horizontal siding and symmetrical window composition. Neoclassical Revival features include the door surround with thin pilasters, temple-like form on the east and west sides with projecting cornice and returns.
