History

Featherstone Parkette. The shade structure in this park was built of wood and stone materials salvaged from the Featherstone Barn, formerly located at 145 Burnhamthorpe Road West. The barn was a late 19th century bank barn with a 3 bay by 3 bay plan with two circular hoists in the centre bay to provide a mechanism for lifting hay to the upper level. The barn was associated with the Featherstone family who farmed the land on Lot 17 Concession 2 NDS from 1844 until the early 21st century.
