The details
What Council proposes
The Town of Oakville has published a notice of its intention to designate a portion of 3269 Dundas Street West — the Wilkinson-Pigott Farm — as a property of cultural heritage value under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act. The notice was published on September 10, 2026, following Council's consideration on September 8.
Why it's considered heritage
The Town cites the property's design value as a 19th-century farm complex, its historical association with the Wilkinson and Pigott families, and its contextual value as a representative remnant of 19th-century agricultural development near the Palermo settlement and Fourteen Mile Creek.
