Oakville moves to extend Maple Grove School's heritage protection to its 1934 wing
Council has given notice it will amend the 1993 heritage designation of Maple Grove School, at 288 Maple Grove Drive, to cover the 1934 addition alongside the original 1872 schoolhouse and to modernize the by-law. Objections close November 2.

What's changing
The Town of Oakville has published a notice of its intention to amend heritage By-law 1993-055 for Maple Grove School, at 288 Maple Grove Drive, under the Ontario Heritage Act. The notice was published on October 2, 2026, following Council's direction on September 28.
What the amendment adds
The amendment would expand the designation to include the 1934 Molesworth addition alongside the original 1872 schoolhouse, clarify the statement explaining the property's cultural heritage value, update the description of its heritage attributes, and revise the language of the by-law to current standards.
