74 Allan St, Oakville, built in 1906, is designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act by Town of Oakville By-law 1993-022 (1993).
History
Originally built during the mid to late 19th century and occupied by Dr. John Austin Worrell, Chancellor of Trinity College. It was moved from 39 King Street to its current location shortly after William Sinclair Davis, one of Oakville’s wealthiest men purchased the property in 1920.
Heritage attributes
Originally built in the Oakville vernacular style. A simple one-and-a-half storey frame house with gable roof and wood siding.
What the status means
Designated individually under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act by a Town by-law. Alterations to the heritage attributes and demolition need Town approval.
