History

Designated as part of the Bronte Harbour and Bluffs Cultural Heriage Landscape, an organically evolved harbour landscape that was initially the natural mouth of the Twelve Mile Creek at Lake Ontario. This dwelling is pne of the oldest existing in Trafalgar Township, built by Charles Sovereign c.1825. Prominent local shipbuilder Dalt McDonald also lived in the building, as well as renowned author Mazo De La Roche author of the Jalna series. This building now serves as a museum.
