295 William St, Oakville, built in 1850, is in the Old Oakville Heritage Conservation District, designated under Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act.
History
In 1850, the Canada Presbyterian Church opened its first church here which was built by James McDonald. When the congregation built Knox Church in 1887, the old church was given to the builder as partial payment, who remodelled it into two houses, this one and the one at 301 William Street.
