History

Built by John Wales, a successful grain dealer and grocer who was an active figure in community activities in Oakville. He was secretary of the Halton Grange and Master of the Omagh Orange Lodge, member of the Town Council, assessor of Trafalgar Township, a life member of the Methodist Church and leader in the local Liberal Association.

Heritage attributes

One of the finest examples of Gothic Revival style in Oakville. Significant features include arched double hung windows, highly ornate vergeboards, gingerbread trim, wrought iron crestwork and projecting front bay windows.
