History

The building is associated with Captain John Andrew, a shipbuilder from Scotland, and his brother Captain James Andrew. John probably built the house but never lived in it. James is believed to have lived in the house until 1891.

Heritage attributes

The house is clad in pebble dash stucco with decorated bargeboards. The eaves are decorated in worked bargeboard in an unusual chain link pattern and the side verandah is highlighted by its decorative columns and fretwork patterns.
