History

The original owner of the property was John C. Harris in 1823. In 1847 John Moore purchased the property. In 1909 the property was purchased by James Ryrie, a jewelry and silverware merchant who held many directorships and was involved in humanitarian activities in the City of Toronto. In 1914 James Ryrie sold the property to Herbert Coplain Cox, President and General Manager of Canada Life Assurance Company. The property remained in the Cox family until 1988.

This 2-storey T-shaped stucco house is setback from Lakeshore Road. The door is centrally located with a flat transom and the porch is open at the front and sides with metal treillage.
