What is running

The Oakville Public Library's fall 2026 children's programming is built around six recurring weekly formats, each aimed at a different age group or interest. All are free.

The six program types
Family Storytime
Stories, songs, music and movement for little ones and their grown-ups. Runs at Central, Clearview, Glen Abbey, Iroquois Ridge, Sixteen Mile and Woodside.
Babytime
Early-literacy rhymes, songs and books for babies and their caregivers. Runs at Central and Glen Abbey.
Stay & Play
A drop-in social hour after Babytime or Storytime for parents and caregivers to connect. Runs at Central, Clearview, Glen Abbey, Sixteen Mile and Woodside.
STEAM Play
Hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and math activities. Runs at Clearview, Glen Abbey, Sixteen Mile, White Oaks and Woodside.
Preschool Exploration Station
Play-based discovery for preschoolers. Runs at Glen Abbey and Iroquois Ridge.
Tales & Tunes

Multilingual storytimes

Two branches run storytimes in languages other than English. Glen Abbey hosts Urdu Storytime — stories, songs and rhymes in Urdu — and Iroquois Ridge hosts Arabic Storytime. Both are weekly drop-in sessions.
