Oakville road closures this fall: Margaret Drive extended to October 23, Macdonald Road and Spruce Street next
The Town of Oakville has extended the Margaret Drive and Elmwood Road closures to October 23. Two sections of Macdonald Road, Spruce Street and Sherin Drive are also closed or about to close, each with a posted detour.

Margaret Drive and Elmwood Road: extended
The Town of Oakville said on October 9 that the temporary closures on Margaret Drive and Elmwood Road for site servicing work have been extended to Friday, October 23, 2026. The closures began on Monday, October 5 and were originally due to end on Friday, October 9. Both streets are closed to through traffic, local access is maintained, and the primary detour is Elmwood Road, Maurice Drive and Mary Street.

Macdonald Road and Spruce Street
Three closures run back to back on Macdonald Road and Spruce Street. Macdonald Road from Trafalgar Road to Reynolds Street has been closed since Wednesday, October 7 for site servicing work, with the closure in effect until Friday, October 23. The next block, Macdonald Road between Reynolds Street and Allan Street, closes from Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 30 for final asphalt restoration, so the two notices overlap from October 19 to 23. Spruce Street from Reynolds Street to Allan Street then closes from October 26 through November 30 for site servicing work.

On all three, the Town says local access will be maintained but driveway access will be limited, and residents will be told when they are directly affected. Sherin Drive
Sherin Drive is closed from Rebecca Street to Bridge Road from October 5 to November 14, 2026 for scheduled Halton Region wastewater main improvements. The detour is Rebecca Street, Third Line and Bridge Road, and local access is maintained. The Town's notice directs questions to Access Halton at 905-825-6000.
